The Geoscience Library is located on the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory campus 17 miles north of Columbia University in Palisades, New York. Books and journal articles from the collection may be requested from the Geology Library in 601 Schermerhorn.

Note: The library is open to Columbia affiliates only. Those without a valid Columbia I.D. should first visit the Library Information Office (LIO), in room 201 of Butler Library, for information on library privileges and access.

A shuttle bus provides transportation to Lamont and the Geoscience Library for Columbia University affiliates and guests. The bus pick-up location is on 120th Street (between Broadway and Amsterdam Ave.) by the the guard booth in front of Teacher's College. Take Riverside Drive or the Henry Hudson Parkway to the upper level of the George Washington Bridge to the first exit, which is the Palisades Interstate Parkway. Proceed north on the Parkway for about 10 miles to Exit 4 (Route 9W). At the end of the exit ramp turn left onto Route 9W and proceed north for 200 yards. The Lamont-Doherty sign will be on your right. Continue on the main Lamont road turning left after the big blue building. Go straight until you see the orchard on your right and the estate house ahead. There is parking to your left. The Geoscience Library is in the big house with pillars.
