The Research Institute on Contemporary Maghreb (IRMC) is one of twenty-seven French research institutes abroad. Created in 1992 in Tunis, the IRMC aims to contribute to the development of social science research on Maghreb. The IRMC is under the direction of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the Ministry of Education, and the National Centre of Scientific Research.
