The Avery Architectural and Fine Arts Library, The Burke Library of Union Theological Seminary, the Rare Book & Manuscript Library, and the C. V. Starr East Asian Library.  In addition, the general collections in Global Studies, Butler Library, and the Lehman Social Sciences Library are rich in material special or unique to Columbia.

You are welcome to apply but preference will be given to those outside the metropolitan area who need to travel to New York City to conduct their research.

While you are welcome to visit Columbia and consult our collections, this program is only available to US citizens and to those who have a legal right to work in the US.

There are no restrictions.  However, it is expected that the award will be used to directly defer costs associated with visiting the Libraries to conduct research.

Successful applicants will be required to complete a Form W-9, which will be submitted to the government by Columbia for income reporting purposes.

No.  The purpose of this program is to facilitate the conduct of research.  The only requirements of the award are a brief report at the conclusion of your project here summarizing your work and accounting for your expenses.
