What is Butler Library's food policy?

Answer:

To best accommodate the needs of our patrons while protecting and preserving our spaces and collections, food and drink are permitted only in designated areas in Butler Library. Beverages in covered, spill-proof containers may be brought into the library. Food cannot be brought into Butler Library; however, food purchased in the library’s café, Blue Java, may be consumed in appropriately zoned areas.

Green Zone: Food & Drink Permitted

2nd floor: Rooms 202, 209, 210, 211, 212, 214 (Butler Lounge)

4th floor: Rooms 401, 403, 404, 406, 406A, 407, 408, 409A

 

Yellow Zone: Drink Permitted

3rd floor: Rooms 301 (Wein Reference Room), 303, 303A, 304, 310 (Catalog Room)

Stacks: Levels 2–12

 

Red Zone: No Food or Drink Permitted

5th floor: 502, 503, 504

6th floor: 601, 602, 603, 604, 607, 615, 616, Rare Book & Manuscript Library (RBML)
