May I bring guests into the library?

Columbia University students may bring members of their immediate families into the libraries for a quick visit. This privilege is only provided once for each family member. Students and their family members may apply for a reader’s card from the Library Information Office (LIO).

On Saturdays and Sundays, Columbia University students may sign up to three guests for each of these day. Both the Columbia student and guest must visit the Library Information Office where a readers card will be created.  Guests will be required to show a government issued photo ID card. Guests will not be issued reader cards during the midterm's and final's blackout periods.

Columbia University officers may bring guests into the libraries. Officers should either accompany their guests to the Library Information Office, or contact LIO staff via e-mail or by phone in order to obtain guest privileges.
