What are the “Friends of the library?” Do friends and alumni have access to e-resources?

Question:

What are the “Friends of the Library?” Do friends and alumni have access to e-resources?

Answer:

Anyone who loves books, libraries, and scholarly research is encouraged to become a Friend of the Columbia Libraries. Your financial support assists each of the 22 libraries at Columbia, serving the wide range of academic programs and professional schools. In exchange, members enjoy a special relationship with the Libraries that includes an annual calendar of cultural, educational, and social events.

Selected premium electronic resources have been made available by special arrangement for Columbia University alumni and Friends through the generous support from the Friends of the Columbia Libraries. Alumni and Friends may access these resources by using a University Network ID (UNI), which is required for login. See also Columbia Digital Collections & Projects (no login required).
