Dr. Susan L. Graham

2011-2012 Scholars-in-Residence at The Burke Theological Library

 

Susan L. Graham is currently Associate Professor of Theology at Saint
Peter’s College in Jersey City, New Jersey. She earned her doctorate
in Theology in the area of History of Christianity at the University
of Notre Dame in 2002. Her research specializations are the second
century, history of biblical interpretation, and Jewish-Christian
relations, in which she has authored a number of articles. She was
Annual Professor at the Albright Institute of Archaeological Research
in Jerusalem in 2008-9.

During her time as Scholar-in-Residence  Dr. Graham is consulting the
Burke Library’s considerable holdings in early Christianity in order
to complete revisions of  ‘Zealous for the Covenant’: Irenaeus and the
Covenants of Israel, to be published by Peeters Publishers. Its rich
resources are also supporting her continuing work in drafting a
manuscript,  Jerusalem: Jews, Christians, and Sacred Places, which
addresses Jerusalem’s Jewish and Christian sacred monuments and
memorials and their role in the developing polemic between Christians
and Jews in late antiquity.
