- Expanded offices for the Electronic Publishing Initiative at Columbia (EPIC)
- Collaborative work environment for Columbia Center for New Media Teaching & Learning (CCNMTL)
- Balance of expanded subject-based research reading rooms program in:
- African Studies (Room 607)
- Ancient & Medieval Studies (Room 603)
- Islamic Studies (Room 602)
- Papyrology, Epigraphy & Paleography (Room 604, which includes a projection screen and hook-up for AV presentations)
- South Asian Studies (Room 601)
- Two additional research reading room collections are being created:
- Early Modern Europe
