Seating at the workstations is for those ACTIVELY USING the lab equipment.

A workstation is available if it is logged off OR the screen is timed-out.

If an available machine is not logged off, log it off and sign in.
Note: unattended belongings do not reserve a workstation.

DSSC high-end stations are for :

groups of two or more
   OR
individuals needing the following features:

• high capacity processing,
• large display space for your applications
• multiple windows open,
• scanning (where there are scanners)

CUIT lab machines are for:

• basic applications like: word processing, email, Internet access
• other applications that don't require high level graphics or processing

Data Service (downstairs on Level 2 of Lehman) for individuals or groups needing:

• high-end workstations set up for work with numeric and spatial data
• staff to assist with finding and preparing data ready for use with statistical or GIS software

DSSC staff will try to accommodate those who have an application with a long running time. To arrange to run such an application you must contact the staff in DSSC Data Service (by e-mail or during the hours the data lab is open) to schedule a time and location when such a job can run without external interruption.
