Correspondence, memoranda, documents and related material pertaining to the career of Sir Robert Gillman Allen Jackson, 1911-1991, as Senior Deputy Director-General of UNRRA, 1945-1947. Among the subjects touched upon are UNRRA's organization and finances, displaced persons, rehabilitation of Greece, and Russian involvement in UNRRA. Among the major correspondents are Sir Humphrey Gale, William J. Hasler, Fiorello H. LaGuardia, Herbert H. Lehman, A.I. Mikoyan, Sir Frederick Morgan and Philip J. Noel-Baker.

The Robert G. A. Jackson UNRRA Papers were presented to The Herbert H. Lehman Papers at the School of International Affairs, Columbia University by Sir Robert G. A. Jackson, October, 1976. 

This collection is a most valuable addition to our holdings of UNRRA material. Examination of the attached checklist will show the importance of these documents. Sir Robert's generous gift will afford scholars an opportunity to better understand the complexities involved in the executive organization and management of this international organization. In the future, no study of UNRRA will be complete without reference to these papers.
