Textual & Qualitative Analysis

Electronic resources lend themselves to many kinds of research, including studies of word usage, style, intertextual influence, and changes of all of these over time through concordancing, analysis of word frequencies and collocation, thematic coding, semantic webs, and much more.  To this end the DHC provides software and consultation support for the closer analysis of text and image.  Programs available on the department's machines or online resources recommended for use include WordSmith, Crawdad, NVIVO, and TAPor.
