"Francie Mrkich brings energy, experience, and sound judgment to her new permanent role, and I look forward to working with her and her colleagues in Access Services as we work through the challenges and opportunities created by our complex, evolving operating environment," said Damon Jaggars, Associate University Librarian for Collections and Services.
Mrkich previously served as Associate Director and Head of Delivery Services, also in Access Services, since 2007, and was Head of Document Delivery Services & Interlibrary Loan from 2006 to 2007. Prior to joining the Columbia University Libraries staff, she served as Head of Copy Cataloging at NYU, as Field Services Coordinator at PALINET, and as a cataloger at both Lehigh and Carnegie Mellon. Mrkich holds a M.L.S. in Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.S. in Business Administration/Marketing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

As Director of Access Services, Mrkich coordinates access services initiatives across the Columbia University Libraries and other departments, as well as identifying and implementing improvements and efficiencies in circulation, document delivery/interlibrary loan, collection maintenance, and offsite retrieval and delivery.
