The Libraries seek to support research in a real estate development curriculum that includes finance, marketing, politics, law, design, construction, planning, and history of real estate in major urban areas of the U.S. (particularly NYC) and abroad. It supports the needs of graduate students.

New courses include those related to joint degree programs attracting students with related interests in architecture, historic preservation, and urban planning.

Areas of established specialization are New York City development history.

Overall, the Libraries’ existing collection for Real Estate is at the study and teaching level, its current acquisitions commitment, based upon available resources, is at the advanced basic information level, and its collecting goal is at the research level.

1. Formats collected: We collect reference tools and scholarly series, annuals, monographs, maps, newspapers, periodicals, and textbooks selectively.
2. Imprint Dates Collected: We collect current publications selectively; earlier twentieth-century materials, nineteenth-century materials and older materials are not collected.
3. Chronological Focus: We collect materials focusing on current research topics selectively; earlier twentieth-century topics, nineteenth-century topics and older topics are excluded.
4. Languages Collected: We collect English language materials only.
5. Place of Publication: We collect North American materials extensively and materials published in Great Britain selectively.
