Using Films in Your Classes

Placing Films on Course Reserves

Full length films that are required viewing can be made available for your classes.  Course Reserves services will provide DVDs, and streaming video when specified and available, on your course reserves list.

Using Film Clips

Short film portions can be made available in your courses. The Columbia Center for New Media Teaching and Learning can provide access to these clips in online course environments such as Courseworks and Mediathread.

Requesting Films for Classroom Screening

Please contact the library that holds the film(s) you wish to show in class, as access and borrowing policies vary by location.

Requesting Film Purchases for the Permanent Collection

To recommend that a film be purchased for the Columbia Libraries collection, please complete this form, which will be directed to the appropriate library for consideration.
