Description

Viewshare (viewshare.org) is a free, open-source platform for creating, visualizing, and sharing cultural heritage collections and other datasets. It offers librarians, archivists, collections managers, and others an easy-to-use way to enhance and explore their collections as well as create interactive, dynamic displays. With a variety of ingest methods and data augmentation tools, Viewshare enables users to prototype and customize visualizations in order to better understand and exhibit collection data. This talk will describe the purpose and potential of Viewshare, demonstrate different use cases, offer a quick walkthrough of creating views, and discuss its broader role in collection management, research, pedagogy, and open data.
