Research Collections

Avery Library's Research Collection contains books and periodicals on architecture, historic preservation, art history, painting, sculpting, graphic arts, decorative arts, city planning, real estate, and archaeology, from all areas of the world and covering all time periods. It is a non-circulating, open stack collection housed in Avery Library and ReCAP, Columbia University Libraries offsite storage facility.

New Lending & Pick-Up Service

Avery is allowing current faculty, students, and staff to borrow certain Avery materials through its new pick-up service.  Eligible materials are limited to all onsite Library of Congress classed collections (the majority of the materials in the 200 level reading room) with the exception of multi-volume sets, catalogues raisonnĂ©s, serials, and oversized materials. Patrons may begin requesting materials now and collect requested Avery materials on the 300 level of the Library, through the Library's main entrance. Hours are 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
