ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry (ProQuest Direct)
Search more than 1200 business periodicals and newsletters with a trade or industry focus. A pan-European financial database containing information on 20+ million public and private companies from 43 countries, including all the EU countries and Eastern Europe. Up to 10 years of detailed information is provided including balance sheet items, profit and loss account items and ratios, address and telephone, senior managers, auditors, number of employees, and, when available, a trade description in the local language and English.

AmericanFactFinder (AFF) is an online source for population, housing, economic and geographic data that presents the results from four key data programs: Decennial Census of Housing and Population - 1990 and 2000, Economic Census 1997 and 2002, American Community Survey - 1996-present, Population Estimates Program - July 1, 2003-present

Associations Unlimited
Database covering over 456,000 organizations worldwide. Also includes U.S. regional, state and local associations. Entries provide directory (e.g., phone, address, web address, etc.) as well as descriptive (e.g., organization profile, conference schedule, etc.) information. Updates: 5 times a year.

AuditAnalytics  [Available via Wharton Research Data Service]
Audit and Compliance datasets covers all SEC registrants. It is used daily by researchers around the world for market intelligence, due diligence, compliance monitoring and trend analysis.

Balance of Payments Statistics [IMF]
Provides information on the balance of payments among countries and geographical areas of the world. Contains approximately 100,000 time series covering more than 170 countries and areas and includes all series appearing on the BOP Country Pages.

Bank Regulatory [Available via Wharton Research Data Service]
This database contains five databases for regulated depository financial institutions. These databases provide accounting data for bank holding companies, commercial banks, savings banks, and savings and loans institutions. The source of the data comes from the required regulatory forms filed for supervising purposes. Please see the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago website for more information.

Blockholders [Available via Wharton Research Data Service]
This dataset contains standardized data for blockholders of 1,913 companies. The data was cleaned from biases and mistakes usually observed in the standard source for this particular type of data. Blockholders' data is reported by firm for the period 1996-2001. The data cleaning procedure is explained in detail by Jennifer Dlugosz, Rudiger Fahlenbrach, Paul A. Gompers, and Andrew Metrick in their study "Large Blocks of Stocks: Prevalance, Size, and Measurement".

CapEx is a database of investment projects that involve the setting up of new capacities in India. The name "CapEx" is a concatenation of the short-form of Capacity Expansion, and of Capital Expenditure. An investment project involves some capital expenditure and it involves some capacity expansion. The CapEx database is about the announcement of such projects, their implementation and their final culmination into new capacities.

CBOE (Chicago Board Options Exchange) Indexes (via Wharton Research Data Service)
The CBOE (Chicago Board Options Exchange) Volatility Index(VIX) is a key measure of market expectations of near-term volatility conveyed by S&P 500 stock index option prices. The VIX measures the market\'s expectation of 30-day volatility. The VIX is based on S&P 500 index option prices and incorporates information from the volatility skew by using a wider range of strike prices rather than just at-the-money series.

CEIC Data Manager
CEIC Data contains economic, industrial and financial time-series data and cover 117 countries and regions including detailed data on China. Data comes from analysts on the ground and the prime national and regional statistical agencies and major industrial data issuing organizations of each country covered.

CEPR Discussion Papers
Over 3000 Discussion Paper Abstracts are currently available online and all Discussion Papers published since the beginning of 1999 (i.e. from No2050) are available as electronic PDF files. Discussion papers may have been presented at conferences or workshops, but will not have been published in journals.

China Data Online
Covers comprehensive economic and statistical data on China such as data on county and city levels. The CUSIP Service Bureau, which is operated by Standard & Poor's for the American Bankers Association, exists for the primary purpose of uniquely identifying issuers and issues of financial instruments within a standard framework, and disseminating this data to the financial marketplace via various media. The CUSIP Master Files provide CUSIP numbers, standardized descriptions and additional data attributes for over 5 million corporate, municipal and government securities offered in North America.

Covers comprehensive historical information on loan pricing and contracts details, terms, and conditions. In addition, DealScan provides contract information for high yield bonds, private placements and hybrid financial structures data which are compiled from SEC filings and public documents, as well as other sources. Direction of Trade Statistics [IMF]
Provides figures on the value of merchandise exports and imports by trade partners as well as area and world aggregates showing trade flows between major areas of the world. DOTS provides access to monthly, quarterly and annual trade data from 1948 to 1999 for about 180 countries and geographic areas.

DMEF (Direct Marketing Educational Foundation) [Available via Wharton Research Data Service]
Four individual data sets, each containing customer buying history for about 100,000 customers of nationally known catalog and non-profit database marketing businesses are available through DMEF to approved academic researchers for use within academic situations. Corporate names are anonymous and customer names and addresses have been removed, but the business type is indicated. ZIP codes have been retained (if possible) to provide a potential link to Census ZIP level demographics.

Dow Jones Averages & Total Return Indexes (via Wharton Research Data Service)
The Dow Jones Averages are comprised of The Daily and Monthly Dow Jones Composite (DJA), as well as The Dow Jones Industrial (DJI), The Dow Jones Transportation (DJT), The Dow Jones Utility (DJU), The Dow 10, and The Dow 5. The Dow Jones Industrial Average, the best known U.S. stock index, and the Dow Jones Transportation Average, the oldest U.S. stock index were created by Charles Henry Dow, co-founder of Dow Jones & Company, and maintained and reviewed by the editors of The Wall Street Journal. Dow Jones Indexes is the source of Dow Jones information and the provider of this data.  The Dow Jones Total Return Indexes are introduced by Dow Jones Indexes as part of the Dow Jones Total Market Index Series. The Total Return Indexes account for reinvested dividends. Data for the Total Return Indexes is available after 1987.

Economatica is an equity analysis tool that contains financial and other information for most publicly traded companies in seven Latin American countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela, and for a related subset of U.S. companies. The database includes items such as: name/country/ticker/industry/, daily stock prices, financial reports, news and capital actions, exchange rates, price levels and inflation, and offers stock screening, sectorial analysis, and graphing. When possible, historical data are available back to 1986. However, financial reports are frequently available only for parent companies, though prices and other information may be available for subsidiaries as well. Data is retrieved via a graphical user interface that provides direct access to company screening or filtering, cross-section and time-series data, graphical analyses, and analytical reporting tools. Data can be downloaded as text or cut/pasted into other applications, such as Excel, for further analysis.

Fama-French Portfolios and Factors [Available via Wharton Research Data Service]
The Fama-French Portfolios are constructed from the intersections of two portfolios formed on size, as measured by market equity (ME), and three portfolios using the ratio of book equity to market equity (BE/ME) as a proxy for value. Returns from these portfolios are used to construct the Fama-French Factors. Eugene Fama and Kenneth French showed that their factors capture a statistically significant fraction of the variation in stock returns (see “Common Risk Factors in the Returns on Stocks and Bonds”, Journal of Financial Economics 33, 1993). The Fama-French data source is Kenneth French’s web site at Dartmouth.

Mergent Fixed Income Securities Database (FISD) for academia is a comprehensive database of publicly offered U.S. bonds. FISD contains issue details on over 140,000 corporate, corporate MTN (medium term note), supranational, U.S. Agency, and U.S. Treasury debt securities and includes more than 550 data items. The Thomson Reuters Insider Filing Data Files are designed to capture all insider activity as reported on SEC forms 3, 4, 5, and 144. In addition, Thomson Reuters adds value by making systematic interpretations on the accuracy of as-reported data and inserting “cleansed” fields for comparison. A cleanse code is included to denote the overall level of confidence in each record.

Thomson Reuters Mutual Fund Holdings - s12 [Available via Wharton Research Data Service]

The S12 mutual fund holdings database covers almost all historical domestic mutual funds plus about 3,000 global funds that hold a fraction of assets in stocks traded in U.S. exchanges as well Canadian stock markets. Because it keeps virtually all U.S.-based mutual funds in existence since 1980, this set is largely free of the survivor-bias that has been a major concern in the mutual fund research.

ULI Development Case Studies
Access to more than 300 detailed case studies of completed projects ranging from low-income housing to mixed-use downtown developments to commercial and industrial projects. UN Comtrade
UN Commodity Trade Statistics Database (UN Comtrade) contains trade data (imports, exports and re-exports) from countries world-wide. For each country annual data can be retrieved by commodity and trading partner. Commodity is defined by either standard international product codes or international industry codes.

More than 450 statistical time series for countries from around the world covering a wide range of economic and socio-demographic topics. Descriptions of the international sources and definitions used in compiling the data are included.

USA Trade Online
USA Trade is a web-based product that allows for remote access to detailed trade data between the United States and its trading partners. Currently it is accessible only from Columbia network. Users can download data on the imports or exports of specific products in either Excel or ASCII format. Products are described at the various levels of detail within 10 digit U.S. Harmonized Schedule of code products.

Contains PDF versions of the Value Line investment survey back to 1997.

Value Line Research Center Contains issues from the current year of the investment survey and small and mid-cap edition, covering stocks, mutual funds, options and convertible securities as well as special situation stocks.

World Development Indicators
WDI Online is a comprehensive database on development data covering 575 indicators, 225 countries, and 18 regional and income groups.
