Library Privileges for the Spouse or Domestic Partner of an Employee, or Student
Spouses and domestic partners of Columbia students, faculty, and officers may use Columbia's libraries.
Students, faculty and staff of Teachers College, Union Theological Seminary and Barnard, should check with their institutions to see what privileges are available from their home institution for their spouses or domestic partners.
- Spouses or domestic partners of Columbia University faculty, or officers of administration may also borrow materials, and will be issued a borrower’s card that expires in five years.
- Spouses or domestic partners of Columbia students will be issued a reader’s card that expires in five years, or at the student's expected date of graduation.
- Borrowing privileges may also be purchased. The monthly fee is $75.
Spouses or domestic partners must provide proof of marriage or domestic partnership. Both parties must show up with proper government or state issued photo ID.
There is a $20 fee for borrowing and reader cards. Payments may be made by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, personal check or money order. The Library Information Office does not accept cash as a form of payment.
