Description
The presenters will demonstrate a selection of Media Center for Art History, Archaeology & Historic Preservation (MCAH) programs, including the application of its database system for image delivery, as well as more advanced programs that are beginning to change the way art and architectural historians present visual material in the classroom.
The MCAH was established in 1995 by Prof. Stephen Murray to develop teaching and learning programs with what was then newly emerging digital technologies. Early projects devoted to Amiens Cathedral demonstrated the potential and effectiveness of digital programs for undergraduate teaching, especially in the Art Humanities course. As the technology has matured, the role of the MCAH has broadened from specialized experimental programs to include a wide range of online resources with increasing attention focused on essential digital image delivery.
