Description

The IMLS-funded Project Vietnam is a collaboration between Columbia's Center for New Media Teaching and Learning and WGBH's Media and Library Archives. As WGBH digitizes stock footage and extensive interviews conducted for its 1983 documentary series Vietnam: A Television War, CCNMTL is partnering with faculty in East Asia Language and Cultures, History, Journalism, and Teachers College to develop curricular uses of this unique material. The session will present CCNMTL's work on an analysis layer sitting on top of WGBH's library of restored materials from this production, and consider the ways digitization is transforming the educational afterlife of a documentary.
