The 5th Columbia University Libraries Reference Symposium explores the changes in higher education and how these shifts affect reference services in large academic libraries.
Keynote speaker, Nancy Van Note Chism, Professor of Higher Education at Indiana University, will be followed by contributed papers. A debate in the afternoon will focus on the future of the “reference desk”.
The Columbia University Libraries Reference Symposia seek to bring together reference librarians, heads of reference departments, and public service managers from large research libraries in the Northeast to share ideas, concerns and plans about reference services.
See the Symposium Program for more details about the day, including keynote, papers and debate. New this year are table topics giving attendees the chance to discuss provocative reference issues in an informal setting.
You may pre-register for the Reference Symposium; complete the Symposium Registration Form to register.
