Course Reserves Submission Guidelines

When to submit Course Reserves lists and materials

Please submit Course Reserve requests at least four weeks before the first day of classes in order to ensure that all materials are ready for your students. Course Reserves requests are processed in the order they are received. Requests may be made after the start of classes, but there may be delays if new items need to be ordered, or if required materials are currently checked out. Submitting all citations and materials at once is very helpful in terms of making materials available in a timely manner.

Where to submit Course Reserves lists

Faculty can request items be placed on Course Reserves by email or by using the online request form. To identify which library handles your course reserves, please select from the dropdown list provided above. Questions can be directed to the Reserves Supervisor at the library where you submit your list. Contact information for your Reserves Supervisor can be found on the Reserves Policy page.

How to re-activate Reserves lists from previous semesters

Your previously used Course Reserves list will be reactivated when you submit a reactivation request using the online request form. You may also add new items, or remove items no longer needed as part of your reactivation request. If we do not have licensed content to link to, we will notify you so that you can decide whether or not to scan the materials for upload into the University's course management systems. Please review the list via your CourseWorks page once reactivated. Please note: Course Reserves lists are not re-activated automatically.

How to submit personal materials to Course Reserves

Faculty have the option of personally loaning texts to the library to be put on reserves. If you have a print item you would like to be on reserve for student use please email your Reserves Supervisor or Library.
