Course Reserves Policies

Loan Policies

Items on reserve generally circulate for 4 hour loans. Some library locations also offer overnight or weekend loans. Details vary by library; click the location names below for more information on specific location policies.

Items on reserve may not be renewed online. If you would like to charge out a reserve item again, ask at the service desk when you return it. If no one is waiting for the item, it may be charged out again.

Items on reserve must be returned to the library where they were charged out. If the library is closed, you may return reserve items to that library’s book drop.

We circulate reserves for short loans to preserve access for all students in a course. A reserve item that is 2 days overdue is considered “lost.” Your library account will be charged a replacement fee for lost items. The fee will be removed when the item is returned. A single lost item will have an adverse impact on your library privileges.

Fees may be paid by credit card (Mastercard, Visa or Discover), check or money order by contacting the Library Information Office.
