Access and Copyright Policies for the CCNY Records


Patrons are encouraged to contact the Carnegie Collections curator in order to discuss their research needs.

The following access restrictions apply:

  • Staff and Trustee files are closed for a period of fifteen years from the creation date of the most recent document in the file.
  • Grant files are closed for twenty-five years from the date the grant is closed.
  • Investment policy statements are restricted for fifteen years from the creation date of the most recent document in the file.

Carnegie Corporation of New York (CCNY) owns the copyright and other intellectual property rights to the materials in its records. Permission to publish and quote must be obtained in writing from CCNY. Requests should include a detailed description of the proposed publication. A correct citation of the papers must be requested in writing from the Archivist, Carnegie Collections in the Rare Book and Manuscript Library.
