2CUL (Columbia & Cornell) Reciprocal Borrowing

As part of the 2CUL partnership, Columbia University Libraries and Cornell University Library have created a reciprocal borrowing program for current students, faculty, and staff of each institution. Current Columbia faculty, students, and staff may register for a library card for Cornell University Library and borrow books when visiting the Cornell campus in Ithaca, New York (this agreement excludes Weill Cornell Medical Library in NYC).

Apply for a Cornell University Library borrowing card here. Your Cornell borrowing card will be ready for in-person pick up in two business days from either of the following Cornell University Library locations.

You will be required to show your valid Columbia University ID to claim your card. Your card will be valid for one year from date of issue, and may be renewed upon reapplication.

Borrowing privileges granted at Cornell are based on your current Columbia status. You will be required to show your Cornell borrowing card and your current Columbia University ID when borrowing materials.

Borrow Direct service is available for individuals planning to be on Cornell's campus for two or more consecutive weeks. For Borrow Direct delivery to Cornell's Mann or Olin Libraries, please visit the Public Services Office in 116 Olin Library to apply for Borrow Direct borrowing privileges at Cornell University Library. Please note that the delivery time for Borrow Direct books is typically 4-5 business days. You can return books at either campus.
