First Lieutenant Robert C. Baetz, U.S. Air Force, was killed in action on January 3, 1951, in Korea. He was a veteran pilot of World War II. In Korea, he was the pilot of a B-26B Invader bomber with the 8th Bomber Squadron, 3rd Bomber Wing. On January 3, 1951, while on a night intruder mission, the aircraft ran out of fuel and crashed four miles west of K-2 airfield.
