Lieutenant Robert Klube was one of 115 men lost when his ship, the USS Frederick Davis DE 136, was sunk by German submarine U-546 in the North Atlantic, April 24, 1945. His name is part of the Missing in Action or Buried at Sea Tablets of the Missing at East Coast Memorial in New York City. He was awarded a Purple Heart.
