The Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar bust is located in Lehman Social Sciences Library, on the 3rd floor of 420 West 118th Street (the School of International and Public Affairs building), New York, NY 10027. The bronze bust, sculpted by Vinay Brahmesh Wagh of Bombay, was presented by The Federation of Ambedkarite and Buddhist Organizations UK to the Southern Asian Institute of Columbia University on October 24, 1995.
We are unable to welcome unauthorized visitors to International Affairs Building and Lehman Library at this time.
The University announced in June that visitors will be welcomed back on campus this fall. However due to the evolving health situation in the NYC area the exact details of this visitor policy have not been decided. The Libraries are working with the University on a visitor policy with a goal of maintaining the safety of the Columbia community. Details will be forthcoming; check the Library Status Updates page for the latest information: https://library.columbia.edu/about/news/alert.html.
