South Asian Studies
The South Asian Studies collections make up one of the most comprehensive in the U.S., with over 500,000 volumes in English, European, and South Asian languages including Bengali, Hindi, Nepali, Punjabi, Sanskrit, and Urdu. Spanning Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the South Asian diaspora, the collections support research across history, literature, art, religion, politics, and culture. Its rich multilingual and multimedia holdings provide a strong foundation for exploring the region’s past, present, and global connections.
