Map Club, provided by Research Data Services, is for those who want to learn more about mapping, spatial data and GIS. Open to beginners and experts, the club is a space to experiment with web-based librarys or frameworks and GIS tools.

Map Club Meetings
- Map Club welcomes members of the Columbia community who work with data and are interested to learn more about mapping Spatail data and GIS at our biweekly meetings.
- Open to beginners and experts, Map Club meetings provide a space to experiment with new libraries, tools or techniques.
- Attendees should bring laptops.

GIS Crash Corse (with QGIS)
- At the beginning of each semester, Map Club hosts a workshop, "GIS Crash Course" aimed at complete beginners in GIS.
- Each workshop uses the QGIS desktop application to introduce fundamental concepts around spatial data models, spatial analysis and map design. Materials can be found on our GitHub repository.
- Attendees should bring laptops, and if possible pre-load the long term release (LTR) of QGIS
