Descriptions of Electronic Resources for Chinese Studies

Resources marked with this symbol are restricted to Columbia affiliates.

In general, the minimum system requirements for using e-resources are Microsoft Windows 2000 or more advanced operating system and a recent version of Internet Explorer. Most e-resources may require the use of a computer in the Columbia University IP range, or a proxy connection. If login is required on the opened database interface, unless clearly informed of specific login information on the associated library page, please always ignore the login cells and look for IP login (normally worded as IP登录) and click on IP登录, and then you shall be able to use the database. Otherwise, you may not be able to use the database.

You may wish to consult the E-Resources FAQ or attend a library workshop to learn essentials applicable to using most e-resources and detailed guides for some leading English-langugae databases.

For Chinese-language e-resources, it is helpful to particpate in the Chinese studies workshops organized at Starr East Asian Library. And please feel free to contact the Chinese Studies librarian if you have any comments or questions.  We welcome your ideas and suggestions for improving the Chinese Studies collections at Columbia.
