Directions

The Avery Architectural and Fine Arts Library is located in Avery Hall, in the northeast section on the upper campus (see map of campus libraries).

From College Walk, the pedestrian boulevard corresponding to West 116th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue, walk toward Alma Mater, the large sculpture in the center of Low Plaza. Walk up to the top of the stairs of Low Plaza veering to your right. Follow the pathway around Low Library, the large building with the dome. Avery Hall is the third building on your right, past Buell Hall (red brick) and St. Paul's Chapel. When you enter Avery Hall, the entrance to Avery Library will be directly in front of you.

Avery is open to current Columbia University students, faculty, and staff, and alumni and retirees of the university with valid CUID.  For more information, including how to obtain an alumni or retiree ID, please visit the Libraries' Visitors Page.  All others interested in visiting Avery Library and its collections should email avery@library.columbia.edu.
