Milstein Undergraduate Library & Services

Columbia undergraduate students have access to all that Columbia University Libraries offers to researchers and students, and in addition, the Libraries provide a range of undergraduate-specific resources and services. Librarians in the Milstein Undergraduate Library provide support for undergraduate students and offer research consultations, classroom instruction, and workshops tailored to students' research and course-related needs.

The Undergraduate Services Librarian purchases materials for and curates the FLI (First-Generation, Low-Income) Partnership Library collection and the Philip L. Milstein Family College Library, an interdisciplinary undergraduate collection of resources with 24-hour access located on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors of Butler Library. This core undergraduate collection supports the undergraduate curricula in Columbia College, General Studies, and to a limited extent, the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS). Other collections within the Milstein Undergraduate Library include the Comics and Graphic Novels Collection and Butler Reserves Collection.

The Barnard College Library circulating collection is available to Columbia students and provides material particularly relevant to Columbia undergrauates, including Barnard course materials and collections with a strong emphasis on dance, gender, and sexuality studies. Barnard Library and Columbia University Libraries materials can be found by searching CLIO, the Libraries' catalog.
