First Lieutenant Francis Nathan Bangs Jr., U.S. Army, twenty-two years old, died of wounds suffered in Belgium, December 18, 1944. He was with a tank destroyer unit of the 3rd Armored Division. He was posthumously awarded a Purple Heart.
