Philip Kearny, Jr.

Brigadier General Philip Kearny Jr. was a career military man who saw action in the Mexican-American War, in Indian wars as well as overseas with Napoleon III's Imperial Guard at the Battle of Solferino. Surviving the Second Battle of Bull Run, he was killed on September 1, 1862, at the Battle of Chantilly. Kearny was buried at Trinity Churchyard in New York. In 1912 his remains were exhumed and re-interred at Arlington National Cemetery.
