Dennis P. Dowd Jr. was in the French Foreign Legion and the 170th Infantry, U.S. Army, and later was a student aviator. He was killed in an airplane accident on August 11, 1916.

Dennis Dowd was was my great great great great grand uncle and he died as one of the first Americans to die as a piolet in WWI. I have been doing research on him and I have been trying to find his brother James Dowd which is my great great great grandpa.
