Ostapow, MIA, in or around the French Village of Torigny, near the Vire River and southeast of Saint Lo.With the 102nd U.S. Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron, and is also listed on the Tablets of the Missing at Normandy American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, France. Awarded the Purple Heart.
