Field Codes for Keyword (Boolean) Searching
You can use a field code to search a specific field in the CLIO catalog record.
- To restrict the search to a specific field, enter the appropriate code from the table below, followed by a space, and then your search terms.
- You do not need to put the Boolean operator AND between your terms.
- A term that is not preceded by a code will be searched as a general keyword anywhere in the record:
nkey green neoplasm? chemotherapy finds items with green in the author field and neoplasm (or neoplasms) and chemotherapy elsewhere in the record
Examples:
Author/Title search: nkey hawthorne and tkey scarlet
Author keyword search (nkey): nkey black nkey lintner
Subject search (skey): skey women and skey "new york"
Journal Title search (jkey): jkey dickens?
ISBN search (isbn): isbn 123456789x (eliminate any hyphens)
ISSN search (issn): issn 1234-5678 (retain hyphen)
Publisher search(publ): publ columbia and skey "gender identity"
