Using a Z39.50 Client to Access CLIO

CLIO (Columbia's Voyager-based online public access catalog) is Z39.50 capable and can be accessed using a Z39.50 client with the following connection settings:

  • Hostname: z3950.library.columbia.edu
  • Port: 7090
  • Database Name: VOYAGER

Please note: CLIO cataloging data is available for download from CLIO Open Data.

Z39.50 client software often requires additional configuration to enable searching on a given database. Technical details for searching CLIO are given below.
